Following the fire at Waltham Abbey business park in March 2018, planning has been approved for four modern industrial units to replace the existing brick-built warehouse units.
The proposed scheme, designed by Louis De Soissons, will transform the 30,000 sq. ft site into new commercial units targeted to achieve BREEAM ‘Very Good’ status and an EPC A+ rating.
Our team have been appointed to carry out civil and structural engineering design services for these lightweight steel framed units, including flood risk and remediation.
The proposed scheme is to utilise ground improvement works in lieu of piling to provide a cost-efficient foundation solution. We worked in close collaboration with the design team, consisting of Qualis Commercial, Stace, Logika, Brontide Consulting, CHP and WWA.
